YTV partners with EPL, Bundesliga and Al Jazeera

YTV partners with EPL, Bundesliga and Al Jazeera

Free-to-air commercial TV channel YTV has content partnership agreements with English
Premier League (EPL), Bundesliga and Al Jazeera, which will see the local media player
distribute content from these platforms.

“We identified several potential TV partners and agreed that as a team it’s best to get
in collaboration with them as they provide vital content that most of our audience finds
attractive. We have found it vital to collaborate with these international counterparts because we
believe that partnerships yield impressive results. Our goal as YTV is to be the best television
station in the area and we are moving step by step, ”said Rykie Wade, General YTV
Director.

Partnerships mean that YTV will broadcast content from its new partners to
scheduled times. Content will include live football matches from the EPL and the
German Bundesliga as there is news content from internationally renowned Al Jazeera
network. The new partners have attracted a large audience from all over the world, making
YTV is one of the few TV channels in the country to broadcast acclaimed content internally
for sure.

“We have already started to broadcast new content on our TV channel and this has been
receiving the appreciation of a wide audience across the region, we hope that this momentum
lasts a very long time. Some even told us that YTV has been their local station of choice since
it broadcasts the content they have aspired to for years ”.

Since its creation, YTV has made sure to broadcast quality content. The TV channel played
a big role in ensuring that it gives a chance to the creators of local content by disseminating
fabrications. Earlier this year they released a locally produced successful line with
faces like artist Tulani Tau, rapper Apolo D, clinical psychologist Tshepiso Teseletso,
senior journalist Lawrence Seretse and communication specialist Ndaba Nkomo
“Our presence will bring back the hope of having a strong private television channel in Botswana that
reach higher heights, we once had channels that weren’t up to viewers
expectations until they close. YTV is here to stay and become an iconic TV channel.
We look forward to working with local and international content creators who
produce world-class content, ”said Wade.

Currently, YTV is available on Zebra set-top box or any other free set-top box that will be coming soon
available across the country in many stores. The TV channel has an in-house production
the crew and studios used to record several programs, which are currently on the air.
YTV is also available to stream online on UPIC TV where several
viewers experienced the channel and gave positive feedback.
