PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Student and community groups in Philadelphia are calling on President-elect Joe Biden to write off all federal student loan debts. Dozens of people gathered outside Biden’s transition office in the city center on Monday evening.
Some explained that they were going through a financial crisis due to the pandemic.

Organizers say Philadelphia was instrumental in Biden’s victory at the polls and he owes the city’s debt cancellation on the first day of his presidency.
President-elect Biden has approved the forgiveness of $ 10,000 in federal student debt per borrower.
