Plateau government: aggrieved PDP stakeholders reject Josephine as running mate

Aggrieved People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Plateau State have rejected the choice of Mrs. Josephine Piyo as the running mate of the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Barr Caleb Mutfwang.

They said Josephine’s choice as running mate was the wrong one and would spell loss for the party in the general election.

They made their grievances known in a petition to the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Those who signed the petition are, Hon. Gideon Chung, Hon. Gabriel Mabas, Alh. Mohamed Dalma, Hon. Obadiah Pam Boss and Mr. Joshua Kele.

They argued that as an opposition party, it is absolutely necessary to ensure that “our candidates are not only popular and the best, but very popular and acceptable to all political blocs within the party” .

They further alleged that the gubernatorial candidate and running mate were nominated from the camp of a former state governor, Jonah Jang, while Senator Jeremiah Husseini’s faction was not allowed to choose the running mate as previously agreed during the reconciliation process. .

“If her choice is allowed, it means that Senator Jang has abandoned the reconciliation agreement and everyone will return to the trenches and it would not bode well for the party in the secondary elections,” the parties said. affected stakeholders.
