Durham and Orange County COVID-19 testing locations and times

With high demand for COVID testing after the Christmas holidays, it can be difficult to get an appointment for a test through the County Durham Department of Public Health this week.

But there are other options if you’re having trouble finding an available site.

Here are some resources to help you.

When can you take a COVID test in Durham?

You may have to wait until next week to get an appointment in the county.

“There are currently appointments available every day for the next week at Optum Serve locations and additional appointments at other test sites across Durham,” said Alecia Smith, communications and communications manager. public relations for the County Durham Department of Public Health.

“All people are encouraged to use the NCDHHS test site finder or visit our website to find several test site options if they are having difficulty planning their preferred location. ”

COVID test sites in Durham

El Centro Hispano – Open for COVID-19 testing daily (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), 2000 Chapel Hill Rd., Suite 26A in Durham. Drive-through tests are available.

414 East Main Street – Open for COVID-19 testing Saturdays and Sundays (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.), 414 E. Main St. in Durham. Drive-through tests are available.

To register for tests at El Centro Hispano or 414 E. Main St., visit Lhi.care/covidtesting or call (877) 562-4850. The tests are accessible to everyone, regardless of age, insurance or documentation. Spanish speakers are available at each location.

Appointments are not mandatory, but are encouraged, through the website of the Ministry of Public Health.

COVID Tests in Orange County

Orange County has two locations for COVID testing, according to the county’s website: Hillsborough and Chapel Hill. Each is open every day of the week, but Hillsborough is closed on Saturdays, while Chapel Hill is closed on Sundays.

• Hillsborough – Tests are available from Monday to Friday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sundays (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) in the parking lot in front of the Ministry of Social Services at 113 Mayo Street. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done online. Select Orange County during registration: unityphm.com/campaigns/starmed.

• Chapel Hill – Tests are available from Monday to Friday (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the Southern Human Services Center in 2501 Homestead Road. The tests will take place in the large conference room inside the main entrance.

COVID Testing in Wake County

These sites are open everyday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., except for New Years hours. These sites are closed on New Years Day and open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
